Ghosts in the Wilderness - abandoned Montana & North Dakota
In late 2022 I spent ten days on a 1700 mile road trip through Montana and North Dakota, exploring the depopulated communities and farms of the High Plains. In deeply cold conditions it was a simply unforgettable experience. It was humbling too - seeing deserted former towns, abandoned farms, derelict and collapsing churches, schoolhouses etc. I wrote an article entitled ‘Letter from America’, inspired by this trip.
