About me

I have been a photographer just about as long as I can remember. I’m from Scotland but I’ve been living in exile in England for many years. I live in the unspoilt gently rolling landscape of South Suffolk.

I have specialised in Landscape Photography for the last 15 years or so. My main original interest was in coastal work but I have relished the challenge of woodland and more intimate landscapes in recent years. I am an Associate of the Royal Photographic Society (ARPS).

I use both film and digital. For film I sometimes use 35mm (various cameras including Contax, Olympus & Nikon), but mostly medium format (Hasselblad, Minolta Autocord, Chroma 6x12 & Iskra). My film image-making is entirely in monochrome. For digital work I use Nikon (colour and infrared) and Fujifilm.

I write articles from time to time. These and my images have been published in a variety of online and print magazines - please see my publications page for some of these.

I have recently become a workshop leader with Aspect2i. I’ve known them for many years and have assisted some workshops in the past. I have led one-day workshops for the Royal Photographic Society locally.

I also offer 1-to-1 photography learning, development & mentoring sessions. I am based in Suffolk but I am happy to teach elsewhere. Please get in touch if you’d like to learn more about landscape photography or take your work to a higher level. (You can contact me via Instagram, Facebook etc).
